Portableapps.com lists a bunch of applications that can be used on a USB drive without the need for any installation. Very useful indeed!

Kaye effect and related

Interesting post on the Kaye effect (impressive demo and explanation on youtube video) followed by some nice comments.

Web design sites

Web design book shares a list of highly rated web design sites. Worth checking out.

Online file conversion

Zamzar is an interesting online file/video conversion tool. Can come in pretty handy if a file is required quickly but is in a format that you don't have. Pity they don't support (so far) proprietory formats such as psd and cdr... would have been useful to convert them into tiffs.

QEDWiki

Great video demo on Youtube from IBM. Shows how wiki can be used as a mashup of services from different databases... and therefore can be easily shared to others at work... this way, users can continuously improve upon the system.
