Cool developments in the real time collaboration world
Lots of interesting things happening in the online collaboration world...Google Talk Beta got introduced. Its comparatively low bandwidth, very clear and just great stuff. There is even some UI feedback to show connection quality on any call. Chat is of course possible and its an improvement on the old google notifier so that checking out gmail becomes easy. No conf calls possible though.
and... now vskype beta offers video conferencing for upto 200+ users... very cool indeed. Allows web presentations. It has limited features and can't be compared with webex etc but its getting there. And its Free. (No, it is not connected to skype which is a Luxembourg based company. It adds on to skype technology and has been developed by Santa Cruz Networks).
It claims that it works over dialup also (speed is slow expectedly so...) but broadband is preferred for these.
